Cancelation Policy : Reservations must be cancelled one day in advance of your arrival date.
In the event of a no show or a cancellation in breach of this policy, an amount equivalent to one night average cost of accommodation will be charged.
The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorise credit cards prior to arrival.
Child Policy : Children older than 12 year are considered adult for room occupancy.
Children no older than 1 year can stay for free.
Travel Information : From the M6:
- Continue onto the A74(M) exiting at junction 13 onto the A702 which eventually leads right into Edinburgh.
- Once in the city, follow signs for Edinburgh Waverley train station. The hotel is almost opposite the Princes Street exit.
From the A1:
- Follow the A1(M) for Edinburgh.
- Follow signs for city centre and then Waverley train station. The hotel is almost opposite the Prices Street exit.
The hotel has no car parking of it own, though guests of the hotel receive a 20% discount on parking at the nearby Greenside Place NCP on Leith Street (just of the East End of Princes Street). Please bring the ticket you get from the car park to the hotel reception to get this discount.
Short description : The Old Waverley Hotel, located on Edinburgh's famous Princes Street, ensures everything is right on your doorstep. Many of the rooms offer stunning views of Edinburgh Castle.
Our hotel is a landmark building in the centre of the city and offers guests the perfect location to explore the many varied attractions which Edinburgh has to offer. Guests will find value for money and the highest standards of customer service. The Hotel now has wifi internet access throughout (own lap top required). The hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment (until end of this year). Disruption is minimal.
Please note that guest are allowed to use the Leisure centre of a nearby 4 star hotel (10 minute walk away) for 5£ and 7£ per person per day.
Important Information : If the booking is not cancelled before 16:00 on the day prior to arrival, your credit card will be charged with the full amount of the booking.
We reserve the right, at our absolute discretion, to refuse bookings, at any time, made for single sex groups.
Please note that for all New Year bookings your card will be charged in full prior to arrival. In the event of a late cancellation all charges are non-refundable. On check-in, you will be asked for a credit card to take a pre-authorisation from for your stay, if you wish to pay cash you will be asked for payment before checking in.
Room Information : Premium rooms are the largest of the accommodation types within the hotel and have just been fully refurbished to a very high standard. All these rooms have excellent views of Princes Street and Gardens, while most have views of Edinburgh Castle.
Standard rooms offer comfortable surroundings in traditional style with all the modern features you would expect in a city centre 3-star hotel. Please note that these rooms are situated throughout the hotel and not all of them have views. To be guaranteed a view a supplement applies. Please contact the hotel for further information.
Small double (internal with no views) rooms offer comfortable surroundings in traditional style with all the modern features you would expect in a city centre 3-star hotel. As the name suggests, these are small rooms, situated at the back of the hotel and have no views at all.
