Short description : Home to friendly staff, pleasant rooms and a cordial atmosphere, this central hotel is positioned close to Florence’s celebrated monuments and museums, and a short walk from the train station.
Situated in a 19th century building, the hotel is convenient for visiting Accademia delle Belle Arti, where Michelangelo’s David is kept; the well-known Duomo; and the Uffizi Museum. Santa Maria Novella train station is a few minutes’ walk away.
On warm days you can enjoy a drink in the little courtyard area before retiring to comfortable rooms with private facilities, some of which have a jacuzzi and broadband internet access.
Cancelation Policy : 48 hours before day of arrival. In case of late cancellation or no-show the hotel will charge the first night as penalty. Cancellation during the stay: hotel will charge 50% of the total cost of the remaining stay.
For the following periods:
During the Pitti Fair (January and June) - 15 days before arrival day to avoid any charge. In case of late cancellation, no-show or early departure the hotel will charge the entire amount stay.
The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorise credit cards prior to arrival.

Travel Information : By Car:
From the North or the South:
- On the A1 motorway, exit for Firenze Nord.
- Follow the signs for the centre and Viali Circonvallazione.
- Continue towards Fortezza da Basso exposition centre and look for Pzza Indipendenza. The hotel is in the middle of the square, at number 5.
By Public Transport:
From Amerigo Vespucci Airport (5km from the centre of Florence):
A taxi ride takes approximately 15 minutes and cots EUR15 -20. A shuttle bus to the city centre takes about 20 minutes.
From Santa Maria Novella railway station:
Exit left from the station (McDonald's side).On the right-hand side of McDonald's you will find Via Nazionale. Walk for 5 minutes and you will see a square, Piazza Indipendenza. Hotel Caravaggio is the second hotel on your right-hand side, at number 5.
An agreement with a nearby garage (including valet parking service) offers parking from EUR 25 to 30 (on request).
Region Information : The major attractions are located within a short walk. Hotel Caravaggio is also very close to the Polo Fieristico Fortezza da Basso, Palazzo dei Congressi and Stazione Leopolda, where the main displays and fairs take place. Galleria dell'Accademia is 7 minutes’ walk away. Many restaurants are located nearby.
