Address : Aldwych

Region Information : The Waldorf is located in London’s West End on Aldwych, next to Covent Garden with Long Acre, Victoria Embankment (next to the River Thames) and the Strand leading to Trafalgar Square. Covent Garden (a 5-minute walk) is colourful and busy, with famous theatres and the latest dazzling shows; exclusive boutiques on the piazza, and the Royal Opera House. London’s most famous square, Trafalgar Square, is nearby and home to the 56-metre (185-feet) tall Nelson’s Column and the National Portrait Gallery, with over 10,000 pieces in its collection. Across the Aldwych guests can find Somerset House, a Renaissance-style palace with a fabulous courtyard hosting music concerts and art exhibitions. Within close proximity of the hotel are also St Paul’s and Westminster cathedrals, the Royal Courts of Justice and the Southbank (on the south side of the River Thames, walking distance over Waterloo bridge) with galleries, the National Theatre and the British Film Institute.

Food & Beverages : The Waldorf's restaurant, Homage, is designed to be relaxed, glamorous and with its unique position on the Aldwych, a little theatrical. Homage serves classical dishes, as well as contemporary favourites. The wine list is predominantly old-world European and, like the food, it is both accessible and affordable. The Homage Grand Salon restaurant features Louis XVI-style decor, with original Ionic columns and a walk-in wine cabinet. Homage Patisserie is classic and sophisticated with wood-panelled walls and period furniture. Waldorf's renowned afternoon teas, with freshly made cakes, scones and vienoisserie prepared daily by Waldorf’s executive chef patissier, can be enjoyed there. The Homage Bar, the trendy and avant-garde addition to London's night-life scene, serves signature gin-based cocktails, as well as all the classics.

Hotel Information : The Waldorf Hilton has an illustrious history dating back almost a century. Since its opening in 1908, the Waldorf has dominated the Aldwych skyline and is a living tribute to its Edwardian creators. Today, it is a Grade II listed building, a jewel of Aldwych. The hotel’s 58-metre (190-feet) frontage boasts 8 granite columns and balustrades, as well as 2 roof domes. There are 2 famous theatres located on the hotel's corners: Novello Theatre on the west wing and the Aldwych Theatre on the east wing. In the past few years the hotel has undergone an extensive refurbishment programme to restore the property to its former glory, complemented by a contemporary feel and the latest technology for the modern-day guest. The Waldorf Hilton is proud to be celebrating its 100-year anniversary in 2008 and thrilled to welcome guests to this magnificent building during such a special time.

Short description : Located in the heart of London's West End, only a 5-minute walk from Covent Garden and Trafalgar Square, this luxury iconic hotel will celebrate its centenary in 2008. Waldorf's perfect location offers tranquillity right next to the cultural hub of the Theatreland with the latest dazzling shows, boutique shopping and famous London landmarks. The city’s financial district is just 3.2 km (2 miles) away, and the hotel features an executive lounge and 24-hour business centre, to act as an ideal base for a business guest. Homage at the Waldorf provides an elegant setting in which to enjoy some of the best modern European and British cuisine. This incorporates the Grand Salon restaurant, Patisserie with Waldorf's renowned afternoon tea, and a bar serving signature gin-based cocktails. All guests can enjoy complimentary access to an on-site leisure club featuring swimming pool, steam room, sauna and modern fitness suite.

Travel Information : Hotel's central location means easy access to the city and major airports. Covent Garden underground station (Piccadilly line, with direct connection to Heathrow Airport) is 5-minute walk away. Holborn underground station (Piccadilly and Central lines) and Temple underground station (Circle and District lines) are both reachable with a 10-minute walk. A number of local bus routes, as well as sightseeing tours, can be accessed from the stops next to the hotel.

Important Information : Parking: The hotel has limited valet parking facilities and these should be booked direct with the hotel as far in advance as possible, on order to avoid disappointment. There is limited metred on-street parking available in the vicinity of the hotel and there are local NCP car parks - please note that these car parks are not operated or endorsed by The Waldorf Hilton.

Room Information : Offering some of the best luxury hotel rooms to be found in London’s West End, all Waldorf Hilton rooms are equipped with the latest technology and come in 2 distinct styles: contemporary and design. Contemporary rooms retain some selected historic features, whereas the design concept provides superb accommodation combined with an immaculate environment, creating a minimalist, clutter-free feel.
