A Coruña (Spanish: La Coruña; Galician: A Coruña; also Corunna in English, and archaically The Groyne) is the most important city in Galicia in northwestern Spain. The city is also the capital of A Coruña province.
A Coruña is a busy port on the Atlantic Ocean and provides a distribution point for agricultural goods from the region. Although much of the heavy industry is based on the shipyards and metalworks of the neighbouring city of Ferrol, there is an oil refinery in A Coruña itself.
Corunna (A Coruña) is the largest Galician city. Of historically remote origins, it has preserved a considerable heritage of monuments and old buildings, among which are Romanesque churches and Roman lighthouse. Its most beautiful and original feature is perhaps the characteristic façade on its houses, which are completely covered by mirador windows.

La Coruña, city of sea, salt and sand
Two thousand years of history, recounted one by one by the Tower of Hercules, a tireless and legendary lighthouse that lit its fire to uncover the great city that many people had imagined. The Ocean embraces her and in its jealousy will not let go, lest others discover the secrets she holds. A balcony onto the Atlantic from which you can dream and let your imagination roam - you can travel back in time for a while, relive sensations that have been lost with their history, myths and legend, and then come back to the present to find the city's new and exciting face. Feel it, walk round it and try it. What are you waiting for?
